Engineering Trainee
The City of Beaverton's Transportation Engineering Division is seeking two Engineering Trainees to assist with traffic data collection and analysis this summer. This position is a great opportunity for students who are seeking experience in the field of Civil or Transportation Engineering.
There are two seasonal/temporary position available. This position is open to college students working during school holidays or breaks. Hours will be scheduled in July and August, with September hours available depending on school schedules.
This position will be scheduled for 40 hours per week, generally from 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday, with some flexibility by prior arrangement with supervisor. The work will be performed in-person, with a combination of in-office and field work.
Responsibilities
- Install and retrieve traffic data collectors throughout the city.
- Download traffic data and create reports.
- Other data collection responsibilities and field measurements.
- Prepare reports and manage data using Microsoft Office programs.
- Update transportation drawings and data using Auto CAD and ArcGIS Pro.
Minimum qualifications:
- Must be a civil engineering or construction management student at an accredited college or university.
- Must be at least 18 years old at time of hire.
- Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to meet the city's driving standards.
- Able to pass a pre-hire background check and drug screen, which includes screening for cannabis.
