Mechanical Engineer - Summer Internship Pharmaceutical Manufacturing
Siegfried, a leading pharmaceutical contract development and manufacturing organization, in Irvine, CA, is seeking a Summer intern in the Engineering Department for a 12 week project.
Mechanical Engineering Intern
Scope and Purpose of Position
The main duties of the candidate will be to provide support with various assignments and projects in the Engineering and Maintenance Departments. The individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Quality and Manufacturing Departments with the existing equipment and processes.
Responsibilities
- Organizes critical spare parts for production and facilities equipment.
- Updates BOMs and parts in CMMS and SAP systems.
- Assists the engineering team in the process of purchasing equipment and spare parts
- Provides documentation and technical writing support
- Assists engineers in revision of drawings and CAD files.
- Enters data generated through various tests into computer software (ex. Excel, Word)
- Other tasks assigned by the engineering management.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Experience in using Microsoft Project Management, Excel and Word.
- Experience using Computer-Aided Design Software such as AutoCAD.
- Ability to function well in a team environment
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Good organization skills for maintaining records and data.
- Must be capable of using good reason and judgment to make and defend recommendations
- Ability to understand and apply technical concepts, tools, and skills.
Required Education and Experience
- Must be enrolled in a bachelor's program in mechanical engineering or similar at an accredited university
- Demonstrated strong academic performance with a minimum GPA of 3.0
- Must be available to work for 12 weeks during the summer of 2025
- Preventive Maintenance and supply chain knowledge
Pay Range: $20-22/hr
