Geotechnical Engineering Intern

Primary responsibilities will consist of developing log of test borings from field investigations, setting up lab testing programs. Developing cross sections for further analyses. Develop and create figures for inclusion into geotechnical reports. Use GIS in developing figures. Perform geotechnical analyses using available software regarding slope stability, foundation bearing capacity and settlement. Other specialized analyses, as needed.
In the role of Geotechnical Engineering Intern, we'll count on you to:

- Perform assignments under the direct supervision of a professional or Project Manager
- Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Prefer 2 years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA
- Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to field of study/industry
- Completed third year of college in an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited engineering program with a minimum of one (1) completed year of Civil Engineering and one (1) year or 12 units of completed core engineering courses.
- Familiar with geotechnical software (GeoStudio, LPile, SHAKE, gINT, FLAC).
- Knowledge of ArcGIS Pro software and AutoCAD
- Local candidates preferred.
The internship program is designed to support young professionals as they explore their future career paths. All work is performed in an HDR office and supervised by a licensed professional engineer.

- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program
- Attention to detail
- Possess strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Basic Microsoft Office skills
