Hooperz is a basketball-exclusive social media and recruiting platform designed to unify the global basketball community and revolutionize athlete recruitment. We empower players, coaches, and recruiters through dynamic user experiences, proprietary AI-powered tools, and community engagement.

We’re preparing to launch our beta and are seeking a motivated Software Engineer Intern to join our product team. If you’re passionate about sports tech and want hands-on experience at a high-growth startup, we’d love to hear from you.

What You’ll Do

As a Software Engineer Intern, you’ll play an active role in shaping our product and contributing to both front-end and back-end systems. Your responsibilities will include:

Building and enhancing features across our React (web) and React Native (Expo) (mobile) apps.

Writing clean, efficient code in Python using FastAPI to develop RESTful APIs.

Working with PostgreSQL to manage and query structured data.

Assisting in cloud deployments and integrations using AWS services.

Participating in agile development practices, including standups, code reviews, and sprints.

Troubleshooting bugs and performance issues across platforms.

What We’re Looking For

Minimum Qualifications

Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.

Experience with React or React Native (especially via Expo).

Working knowledge of Python and understanding of backend principles.

Familiarity with PostgreSQL or other relational databases.

Comfort using Git and collaborating on code with others.

Strong problem-solving, communication, and time-management skills.

Bonus Points For

Experience with FastAPI or similar Python web frameworks.

Familiarity with AWS (e.g., S3, EC2, Lambda).

An interest in sports or social platforms.

Understanding of mobile development workflows (especially iOS/Android testing with Expo).
