Packaging Engineer Intern
Job Summary: The Packaging Engineer Intern will support developing, analyzing, and optimizing packaging strategies and processes in alignment with Nifco's and our customer's packaging standards. This role involves working closely with the logistics team and various internal departments to ensure adequate packaging documentation, inventory control, and reimbursement processes. The intern will assist in data analysis, packaging audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Functions: Develop and implement packaging designs that meet product requirements and consumer needs while ensuring compliance with industry standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create packaging, including planning, production, and quality. Conduct material selection and testing to identify the best packaging solutions that minimize waste and reduce costs. Analyze and improve existing packaging to enhance functionality and efficiency in the supply chain. Utilize CAD software and other design tools to create prototypes and visual representations of packaging concepts. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to drive innovation within our packaging strategies. Evaluate the environmental impact of packaging materials and work towards sustainable packaging solutions. Support the development of packaging specifications and documentation for new and existing products.
Education: Must have a high school diploma or GED. Have (or be in process) a college degree (Packaging Engineering, Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field). Ability to work in the USA without sponsorship.

Proficient in CAD software and packaging design tools. Excellent computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office products. Able to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and averages. Behave in a positive manner that enhances the success of the company. Able to sit or stand for long periods.
