Summer Intern - Engineering Department

Join Plastic Molding Manufacturing (PMM) in Lancaster, PA as an Engineering Assistant supporting our Plastic Engineering team. In this hands-on role, you’ll assist with the implementation of cutting-edge technologies like our Mobile Automated Training Systems (MATS), contribute to training development, verify production metrics, and support mold validation and documentation efforts. You'll collaborate closely with engineers, toolmakers, and automation teams while gaining exposure to customer blueprints, CAD files, and manufacturing processes. Job Responsibilities:

Support Plastic Engineers with a variety of tasks, including:

• Assisting with the implementation of new technology, such as MATS (Mobile Automated Training Systems)
  • Developing MATS training modules for additional tool numbers
  • Creating training videos and work instructions for high-volume parts
  • Reviewing existing training materials and completing any missing documentation
• Verifying cycle times and cavitation for active tools
• Reviewing Bills of Materials (BOMs) for accuracy
• Assisting with validations for new and transfer molds
• Preparing mold books with proper documentation for new tools
• Collaborating with the toolroom to review and re-organize inserts
• Supporting automation design and integration efforts
• Reading and interpreting customer blueprints and 3D CAD files
• Contributing to various engineering projects
