
Staff Civil Engineer (Co-op)
The Staff Civil Engineer will work at the direction of company project managers, engineers and survey staff members to assist in preparing company engineer’s plans and specifications for a variety of: residential, commercial, and municipal construction sites. Projects may involve roadway, water, wastewater and stormwater work. Staff Engineer may visit construction sites periodically to coordinate with company resident engineers or third party contractors. Staff Engineer may work with survey field staff on project site to collect data or establish project control monumentation.
Job Responsibilities
- Coordinate with project manager/engineer to prepare company engineers plans and
specifications for permitting and project bidding. - Communicate regular updates to company engineers regarding project progress and any identified or observed project concerns.
- Prepare CAD design/drafting of company plans for various projects.
- Prepare hydrology & hydraulics drainage calculations
- Prepare project quantity/bid document calculations
- Coordinate pay estimate quantities with engineers and contractors.
- Complete field measurements of completed work as needed.
- Coordinate with survey staff to ensure proper layout of engineer’s plans.

- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Effective communication and client-interaction skills.
- AutoCad or Carlson software training or experience.
- Ability to professionally complete written observation reports.
- Strong math and calculation skills of basic functions for review of pay estimates and
requests.
Requirements
- Candidates with education in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology or
related field would be ideally suited. - Must hold valid OH Driver’s License.
Work Schedule: 40 hours Monday-Friday
Work Location: Salem, Ohio office
