Entry Level Project Engineer

Entry Level Project Engineer

  • Will be involved with the parent Company Hatzel & Buehler and its divisions BlueSky Controls & Bluestone Communications.
  • Will be involved in commercial Core & Shell, Fitouts, data centers, healthcare, airports  for a variety of electrical systems & disciplines in the electrical construction industry such as Power, Lighting, Fire Alarm, Telecom, Security, Audio Visual, Communications, RF, and Instrumentation & Controls.
  • Producing 2D & 3D Electrical Shop & As-Built drawings with the use of AutoCAD MEP, Navisworks and Revit.
  • Attend BIM Coordination Meetings for clash detection with other trades.
  • Reviewing and submitting project submittals such as power, lighting, fire alarm, audio visual, data, controls, structural/ seismic to ensure it meets project specifications and scope of work for final installation.
  • Tracking & coordinating Submittals, RFI's, Change orders, Subcontracts, insurances, SOV, labor rate sheet, Safety, BEC Permits, BEC & FDNY Inspection Results, Shop Drawings, As-built Drawings, Closeout Documents with the use of Project Reports.
  • Design/review calculations such as (conduit fill, derating, sizing of Conductors & pull boxes, feeder tap rules, working clearances, sizing of OCPD's, panels, ATS, transformers etc.) tap rules, working clearances, sizing of OCPD's, panels, ATS, transformers etc.)
  • Reviewing project Installations to comply with NFPA 70 (NEC Electrical Code) ,NFPA 70E (Electrical Safety), and NFPA 72 (National Fire Alarm & Signaling Code).
  • Reviewing BEC/Advisory Board Drawings/ Coordination/ Short Circuit/ Arc Flash Study with Power Systems Engineer for final Approval.
  • Develop Schedule/Logs/Tracking Reports for Engineering Submittals & Labor Installation. Value & cost engineering to meet project budget.
  • Perform Document control for Contract Drawings, Shop Drawings, Submittals, RFI's, Change Orders etc. within ACC to transfer information from the Office to the Field.
  • Reviewing and submitting project submittals such as power, lighting, fire alarm, audio visual, data, controls, structural/ seismic to ensure it meets project specifications and scope of work for final installation.
  • Perform Value & cost engineering to meet project budget.
  • Coordinate with the Field for Pre-fabrication planning & development.
  • Review the project scope and drawings and develop an understanding that allows for identifying issues and concerns for design resolution.
  • Participate and provide feedback in the design & constructability review process.
